Is the Valor Mortis demo still available?
No. The public Steam demo period ended on September 8, 2026. One More Level retired the demo because its older build no longer reflected the improvements being made to the full game.
What did the demo include?
The demo contained two specially adapted levels: Chapter I and Chapter VII. These were selected campaign sections rebuilt for the demo, rather than a continuous playthrough of the first seven chapters.
One specific encounter is changing in the full release:
| Encounter | Demo placement | Announced full-game placement |
|---|---|---|
| General Lothaire | End of Chapter I | End of Chapter II |
Moving this fight later gives players more time to learn the combat system and develop their character before facing him.
When can I play the full game?
Valor Mortis is scheduled to launch on October 13, 2026. See our release date guide for platform details, or our story length guide to plan your playtime.
Was a PS5 demo announced?
A public PS5 demo has not been announced. The official PlayStation listing covers the full PS5 game, while the demo announcement concerns Steam. One does not establish the other.
Why should old demo impressions be treated carefully?
The specially adapted demo chapters documented a pre-release build, not the final story order, progression, balance, controls, or combat rules. The combat guide therefore keeps its Rapier example tied to the Chapter VII demo, while the gameplay overview separates official positioning from preview observations.
